Yesterday my brother and his beautiful wife gave birth to their very first baby girl, miss Cora Adair. We spent the day at the hospital, waiting to hear the good news of how long she was, if she had hair or not, what kind of ear lobes she had, and how much she weighed. Just a few hours after seeing Kate with her big belly and that belly button sticking out, she (along with the rest of us) had witnessed a miracle.
Cora Adair had come into the world with a head full of hair, blue eyes, her daddy's ears, her momma's nose, a smile on her face, and her Aunt's middle name! Never in my life have I witnessed something so beautiful. I'm serious, it was incredible. Watching my brother's face as he held her in her arms. Watching the way Kate seemed so at peace and in love with her new baby. I've never seen anything so miraculous. Everything was so perfect and meant to be. Even the doctor said she was perfect!
I got to spend the day in the hospital again today and I held Cora for hours and hours (so it seemed.) It was incredible. She slept most the time, wrapped up tight in her little blanket. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I can't wait to see who she becomes. I can't wait to hear her laugh, or see what makes her eyes light up. Will she be a dancer? A 6-ft. basketball player? Will she follow her daddy's footsteps and become an incredible musician? Gosh, it's so incredible.
I am so blessed to be the Aunt of such a beautiful little girl. There is nothing like it in the whole entire world...
love,
lace
